¡ Bienvenidos!      Welcome!

Puerto Rico Mission Field Statistics:

The major religions are : Catholic (85%), Protestants (8%), non-religious (2.3%), and others (3%).  Churches of many denominations can be found throughout the island.  Some islanders ascribe to spiritism, and others practice Santeria, an Afro-Caribbean belief system brought to Puerto Rico from Cuba.  There is also  a small Jewish community and a small Muslim community as well.

Out of 78 municipalities, there are 37 that do not have an Independant Fundamental Baptist (IFB) church.  That's well over 1,000,000 souls  (1/4th of the island's total population) that do not have access to a Gospel Preaching, Bible-believing IFB church in their area.  Of the rest of the municipalities that DO have an IFB church, most of them desperately need several more.  San Juan has a population of over 700,000.  The San Juan metropolitan area has 2,000,000 (1/2 of the island's total poulation) with only five IFB churches.  Each of these churches has less than 50 people.  There is such a great need!  That is why the Harmons are missionaries to this spiritually needy island.

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" Romans 10:14
